Today, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I’m sending you a reminder to share some of your love for a few of your favourite things:
… your LOVE of writing
… your LOVE of novel marathons
… your LOVE of your MNM Family
… and most of all, your LOVE of words,
sentences and paragraphs, that eventually
will complete your novel.
3 giant cheers to seeing you this July at the Muskoka Novel Marathon! Enjoy your day of love and I hope it also includes some chocolate!
Here are a few tiny updates to keep you in the loop of excitement for MNM2014:
- MNM Website has been updated to include pictures from last year’s marathon and the wrap-up party. Take a peek and share your fame with all your friends… or if you are new to the marathon this year, take a look at how writers dress for the event or what is sitting on their desk. Ha! Fashion is important to some writers BUT snacks are a MUST! Go to: http://www.muskokanovelmarathon.com/
- Registration information from my last email has also been added to the blog portion of our website, just in case you accidently deleted my email. Most important information to remember would be the actual date to register: Tuesday, March 18th at 7:00pm SHARP. We will need your name, phone number, email address and payment of $100. That’s it… the rest of the information will be gathered later.
- Our fund-raising goal this year is $20,000. Using 40 writers as our guideline, that will break down to $500 per writer, but that isn’t a minimum, it’s just a guideline. We would never boot you off the "Marathon Island" for not raising $500. With that said, anyone who raises $500 or more will be entered into our draw for extra prizes. Anyone who raises at least $1000 will automatically have a
reserved spot for the 2015 marathon. This is better news than this year’s guaranteed top 5 fund-raisers…now, if 10, 15 or 20 people manage to hit $1000, they are guaranteed their spot! It’s a pretty
- Biggest news… this new venue will have two fridges! Yay! One for all our donated/purchased food for the writers to be used by staff only, AND one for the 40 writers to put their midnight snacks in! This second fridge is a large bar fridge with two sliding glass doors on the front, providing lots of space for my weekend supply of Coke and a little room for you guys! If the writers would like to use this fridge, all you need to do is put a label on your items...and don't touch my Coke. ;)
