Judged Awards:
BEST NOVEL, Young Adult/Juvenile
BEST NOVEL, Adult
** Winners of the judged awards receive one Muskoka chair, and a possible fast-track to the start of a publishing career: their manuscripts are shown either to an editor at a publishing house or a literary agent.
Quantitative Awards:
REMINGTON (REMY) AWARD: For the writer who has raised the highest total donations to YMCA Muskoka Literacy Services.
MOST PROLIFIC WRITER AWARD: For the writer who writes the longest manuscript by word count by the end of the marathon.
ROCKSTAR AWARD: For the writer who produces the second-longest manuscript, must be at least 250 pages.
BALZAC AWARD: For the writer who produces the longest manuscript despite leaving Sunday night (discontinued as of 2013).
Peer-voted awards:
SPIRIT AWARD: For to the writer who best embodies the spirit of the Muskoka Novel Marathon, as voted by their fellow writers.
B.I.C. (Bum in Chair) AWARD: For the writer who stays glued to their chair the longest, according to the observation of their fellow writers.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD: For the first-time marathoner who best embraces the spirit of the Muskoka Novel Marathon.
TECHIE AWARD: For the writer who does the most to help fellow writers overcome technological issues during the Novel Marathon.
